Challenge: Hollywood on a Budget
We were approached by our client to design an event that embraced the meeting’s LA location by featuring Hollywood decor. The event had a constricted budget, but high hopes for a memorable experience that took advantage of the unique location.
The Centrifuge Team was up for the challenge, and excited to dive in. Here’s how we approached this event:
Thematic and Scenic Design
The meeting was for the Market Access Division of our Life Sciences client, so we designed a “Lights, Camera, Access” theme featuring old Hollywood elements throughout the hotel. In lieu of a budget for big projection and other immersive digital components, we wrapped our arms around the retro-element.
For the General Session room, we customized a swag drape to create the feel of a classic Hollywood Theater. By utilizing exposed light bulb strips, were were able to create stage letters that featured our client’s brand along the stage. To complete the look we flanked the stage with customized silver film reel scenic pieces.
Hotel Branding and Wayfinding
The magic of the old Hollywood appeal carried through the hotel in the form of directional signage that looked like vintage Movie Posters wrapped in the same exposed light bulbs featured on the stage. The registration desk was designed to look like a theater ticket booth complete with a large marquee.
By working with the strengths of a unique and exciting location, we were able to create an immersive and memorable thematic experience for all attendees.
