Lentz McNeill recently joined Centrifuge Media as the newest Event Coordinator! We asked Lentz a few questions after giving her some time to settle into her role!
Q: What was your path to Centrifuge Media?
A: After graduating from ECU in May of 2022 and taking some time off for the summer, I started looking for full-time positions in the events industry that would relate to my background in Music Administration. I was able to gain experience in music event planning and logistics while pursuing my undergraduate degree in music performance. That led me to want to stay within the world of events and expand my overall knowledge. Centrifuge fit perfectly with those needs, so I applied as an Event Coordinator and here I am today!
Q: What are you most looking forward to in your role?
A: The challenge and endless opportunities to learn.
Q: You can offer a client one piece of advice when you start planning a meeting. What is it?
A: I would say embrace new ideas. There are so many outcomes and possibilities when planning a meeting that it’s important to keep an optimistic mindset.
Q: What has drawn you to work in the events industry?
A: As I mentioned, a lot of my background has drawn me into this industry. But in a deeper sense, events are something that brings people together because of a common goal or cause, which in turn builds stronger connections and communities. Being able to plan and help people achieve that is really uplifting and inspiring.
Q: When you aren’t coordinating events, what do you like to do in your free time?
A: I’m not one to lie, I like a good Netflix and chill moment. But when I’m not doing that, I love to hang out with my friends and family, try new restaurants, read, and explore thrift/antique stores I haven’t been to. I do play violin, occasionally I will take it out of its dusty box, but only on good days 😊
Q: Book or movie?
A: Ultimately depends on the mood, but “book” because I’ve been watching more TV shows lately!
